Our B&B is frequently visited by guests who love to explore the surroundings, and rightfully so. The area around Borneman Buitenhof is beautiful! From Borneman Buitenhof, the city of Utrecht is just a 10-minute bike ride away. Additionally, Borneman Buitenhof is close to the city beach Down Under (2 minutes walk), and the charming old village centers of Houten, Vreeswijk, Vianen, and Wijk bij Duurstede are just a stone's throw away.

You can go cycling along the famous fort route or Lek-dijk, go boating on the Kromme Rijn; there are stunning castles like Kasteel Heemstede and Kasteel de Haar to explore. You can also go for a hike, for instance, on the heathlands near Zeist or in Amelisweerd/Rijnauwen, and our location is right in the middle of the cycling network in the Kromme Rijn area. The Utrechtse Heuvelrug (Utrecht Hill Ridge) is also easily accessible.

If you're seeking adventure, you can choose to go canoeing on the Kromme Rijn. Exploring Amelisweerd & Rhijnauwen by canoe, for example, is a unique experience. It allows you to admire the surroundings from a different perspective.

If you're in the mood for more adrenaline, you can go wakeboarding at Down Under, the watersports and recreation center located just 100 meters from our B&B. With a cable system, you'll be pulled over the water while performing impressive tricks and stunts. It's an exciting and thrilling experience for those seeking some water sports adventure!

Houten is within biking distance of the historic city of Utrecht, where you can enjoy cultural landmarks, shopping, and dining at charming restaurants and cafes.

Castle "Kasteel Heemstede"

The nearby castle "Kasteel Heemstede" is worth a visit. This beautiful 17th-century castle offers a glimpse into the past. It has a rich history and is surrounded by stunning landscape gardens.
